Kat Parra has leapt beyond the boundaries of the typical latin jazz singer. With her thirst for the exploration of world rhythms and tonalities, she has developed a style of music that encompasses sounds that both transcend and bend the stereotypical definition of latin jazz. She incorporates afro-cuban music, afro-peruvian, middle eastern, south american folklore as well as nueva trova and Sephardic music.

- I recently quit my (cushy corporate) job to pursue a full-time career as a latin/world vocalist. Since leaving Corporate America I have signed to a record label (Patois Records) and recently released my sophomore CD, Azucar de Amor. My first CD, Birds in Flight was my launch pad into the wide world of music and it's been an incredible ride since. I feel blessed to be able to pursue my passion of music and would like to find more people who are sharing, or want to share, in my experiences.
